gila yah semenjak gue kesantet ama si syaiton pendeta yg bisa dicium papa polish yg bakal bikin anak ceweqnya jomblo seumur idup tukang tepu yg kalo ngerokok tebalik lelaki bersuara sumpah-fales-abis!!! oirish biadab itu tiba2 pertahanan gue sama lelaki2 tampan bertulang pipi indah, bersuara dan berwajah eksotis, jago main alat musik, got a good sense of humour dari daerah sekitar britania raya dan daerah jajahannya tuh bener2 runtuh seruntuh2nya. udah kemaren2 gue dengan sakses kesantet HUGE hugh jackman yg ter punk'd, sekarang gue lagi seru2nya melatjurkan diri dilatjurin disantet ma si alex dan gelomboran franz ferdinandnya.

udah semingguan ini itunes gue baik di rumah atopun di kantor kepentok di lagu2nya franz ferdinand semua [tapi koq temen2 kantor gue gada yg protes ya denger lagu yg itu2 aja? '_' ]. duh pake susuk apa coba ni band ya bisa nyaho pisan di kuping gue musik2nya. padahal musiknya mereka tuh cukup berisik lho. dengan suara gitarnya yg nyolot-rusuh dan drumnya yg kentjeng gitu. biasanya gue males denger lagu yg kaya gitu ["berisik. gue mah demennya yg mellow2. yah ... model2 marylin manson gitu deh."] tapi koq sama si franz ini gue betah ya? ya kalo emang uda jodoh mo diapain?
tapi gue juga bisa giting2 sendiri denger lagu2nya nine inch nails sih. semenjak perfect drug, tiba2 gue yg demen gitu lagu2nya dia. closer tuh sumpah toBH banget. sampe just like you imagined yg mana adalah sontrek 300! duh nikmat banget tu lagu buat dipake bertjinta edan2an!

Alex Kapranos, Franz Ferdinand's frontman, looks thoughtful. Huddled around a small table in a Primrose Hill pub, the remaining three members of the year's most promising new band - Bob Hardy, Nick McCarthy and Paul Thomson - look over at him expectantly. "My mum and dad have gone weird on me," he confesses. "They keep trying to chat about trendy New York bands and say things like: 'So Alex, I hear you have a bit of post-punk going on'. They don't know what the hell post-punk is!"
Kapranos' experience clearly strikes a chord with the others. Guitarist McCarthy - the band's Adonis and failed judo champion, emotionally scarred having lost to a girl at age 11 - nods passionately in agreement; while drummer Thomson, whippet-like and sporting a rather suspect moustache, reveals that his folks too have been acting rather odd. "Yeah, my mum and dad are a lot nicer to me now," he says surprised, his thick Scottish accent almost smothering his words. "Over Christmas there was no talk about when I was going to get myself a job like there was last year, and they keep telling me they love me."

jadi mereka udah puyeng banget nih cari nama buat band mereka, yg diharapkan ada beat tertentu, berhubungan dengan an important event of world history, dan enak didenger. lagi duduk2, nonton tv, ada horserace yg nyebutin nama si kuda yaitu spirit hidalgo matt damon the archduke. dan mereka tiba2 yg click! "hey, do you remember that archduke franz ferdinand?".

by the way, si alex ini ba [bukan Bryan Adams!!] in Hotel and Catering Management dari University of Strathclyde, dan side jobnya juga interesting [walopun ga seheboh gabriel sih ... hello? bull-fighter? yg cuma bertahan sampe dia ketemu banteng beneran?]: chef, barman, music promoter, driver, welder and lecturer. yes, suy ... the man also taught [sumpaye guru2 di sono! udah gabriel byrne, sting, sekarang yg model beginian juga ngajar! minta dianonohin di depan kelas banget sih?!]and he can cook. elu boleh minjem koq kapan2 ... dengan syarat gue ikut *masih pundung nonton music&lyrics dan karakter2nya ... sophie and alex*
but what's really fascinating from alex is ... he's got atshma. no! not that! he's so open-minded.
Christ, man! as if writing [music and food-reviews!], brainy, great sense of art and fashion, into world history, playing musical instruments, having good sense of humour weren't enough, the kapranos also have to be gay bi fine with gayness [nice short story of seattle gay news reporter of meeting franz here. damn, they're lovely!], he's downloading music and ... *deep breath* he's supporting slash fanfics!! even if it's about him and the band!
Popular slash community slacken_ties is created on LiveJournal. It is dedicated to slash fiction featuring Scottish rock band Franz Ferdinand. The band itself has acknowledged the site, with Alex Kapranos saying, "Slackening ties for the girls at slacken_ties!" in a 2005 gig at the Scala, London. Alex Kapranos also reportedly promotes the community.
and a personal comment:
"It was pointed out to me at one point and I thought it was very humorous," Kapranos says. "The thing I didn't realize is that there are so many hot blooded girls who are really kind of into this voyeuristic thing about homosexual sex. At first I thought they'd been spying on my private life and then I realized it's just fantasy."
While many stars are opposed to the idea of writers using them in real person slash (RPS if you want to get really geeky), Kapranos is actually amused by it.
"I think it's brilliant. It's really, really funny. And I like that sort of thing cause it means that there's people who have imagination who are inspired by your personality and the things that you've done, so it's a good thing," he says. "There's absolutely nothing wrong with fictionalizing a genuine character as long as you make it clear that you are fictionalizing, which I think all that slash stuff does. I think it gets dangerous when people start believing that those things are actually true, and I think for the obvious majority of people that that's not going to be the case. There are a few people who get crazy obsessed and start imagining they're having relationships with people that they don't have relationships with. That sort of thing's a little bit frightening, but I think that's very rare."
Another reason that Alex isn't bothered by the fictionalization of real people in slash is that he doesn't think it's that different from what Franz Ferdinand do.
"It's what we do in songs as well," he says. "I mean, we take characters who are around us and write stories, write songs about events that have happened in their lives. Of course, when you tell any story, you make it dramatic, you use the tools of drama to make an exciting story."

During the early 1990s he was drummer of The Yummy Fur and was at one point part of The Purple Bajengas and Pro Forma. It was in The Yummy Fur that Thomson would meet Alex Kapranos Huntley. When The Yummy Fur broke up, Thomson had various odd jobs DJ-ing and working as a nude model at the Glasgow School of Art. He claims to have been so desperate for money that at one point he sold fat from his buttocks for £250 in order to pay his rent.

franz ferdinand frontman alex kapranos regrets not mimicking kylie minogue's i should be so lucky video for their new single do you want to, because he was desperate to re-create video's famous bath scene. the scottish rocker was eager to jump in the bathtub wearing the same hat the australian pop star wore in the video of the 1988 number one hit. kapranos admits, "i wish we'd have thought of that when we were doing the video. "i'd like to have done a scene in the bath with all the bubbles and the silly hat."
